Wayne Riley Slone

December 12, 1950 — November 11, 2024

Wayne Riley Slone passed peacefully in his home on November 10, 2024. Wayne was born in a small town of Wister, Oklahoma to Grace and Hershel Slone on December 12, 1950. He was the first of what would end up being 9 siblings.

He finished high school in Wister before joining the United States Army. He went to serve as an Artillery Specialist in the Vietnam war before being Honorably Discharged after the war.

He then spent little time back home before moving across the state of Oklahoma, to Thomas. This is where he spent over 20 years, running a salvage business, and raising his first born, Bridget Slone.

After some years past since his business sold, he decided to move up to Jerome Idaho. This would become his final home, and resting place. Here, he saw birth to his second child, James Slone. He also had two step children, in Miranda Crosby, and Dominique West, whose lives he was apart of. He later gracefully welcomed his only grandchild, Kaelani Slone in 2021.

Wayne was survived by Bridget Slone, James (TeeAnna) Slone and granddaughter Kaelani Slone.

Funeral service will be held at 11am, Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave. Graveside service will follow at 1pm, at Snake River Canyon National Cemetery, Buhl.
