Hagerman- Virgie Dean Taylor, 81, of Hagerman, went to be with the Lord On May 10, 2016.
She was born March 8, 1935 in Picher, OK, to May and Theodore Armstrong.
The family later on moved to the Ozarks. Virgie attended high school in Blue Eye, MO where she met the love of her life Ralph Taylor. They were married on February 13, 1952 in Berry Ville, AK. They moved to Idaho in 1954 and settled in Hagerman in 1959, where they still reside today.
They raised three boys Gene (Ann) Taylor, Kenneth (Sharlene) Taylor, and Pat Taylor. Virgie has six grandkids and many great-grandkids. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge from 1952 to 2016 and also a member of the Oddfellows. Her hobbies included making crochet bed dolls and afg hans, sewing, reading pocket books, collecting owls, frogs and hummingbirds, wind chimes, and pictures and she loved to watch ballgames. One of the things she loved the most was cooking and canning all the fresh fruits and veggies she and Ralph grew in their many gardens. She loved spending time in the flower and rose gardens. She had a big love for her dogs! Virgie worked for the Hagerman IGA for many years.
Virgie enjoyed helping at the elementary school reading to kids and serving lunch. She enjoyed spending many hours playing with her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved collecting her knickknacks. She never could miss a yard sale or auction to find her knickknacks. She is preceded in death by her infant son, Jimmy Taylor, her parents, her step-dad (Sam Cron), two bothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be conducted a t 11:00 a. m., Monday May 16, 2016, at the Hagerman United Methodist Church, 270 East Salmon Street, Hagerman, with a visitation beginning a t 10:00 a. m. Interment will follow in the Hagerman Cemetery. Virgie's family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in her name to the animal shelter of your choice.
