Jerome- Tom E. Broadway, our beloved husband, father, son, grandpa, great-grandpa, uncle, brother, and friend has gone home to be with his Father in Heaven. Tom passed on peacefully at home on Good Friday, March 25, 2016, at age 82. He was born in Gridley, California on September 16, 1933 to parents Jerry and Winona Broadway. He grew up in Northern California and graduated from Alameda High School in 1952. Tom worked various jobs in the timber, lumber and plywood industries, doing jobs including timber faller, cat skinner, and supervisor. Tom retired in 1996 from Western Geo Engineers in Woodland, CA. having worked with geologists as a setup and maintenance/handyman.
While living in Woodland he met Betty Slagel Tibbs, and they were married on July 20, 1991. In 2003 they moved to Betty’s home town, Jerome Id . Tom embraced Idaho, gaining many friends, enjoying the hunting and fishing as well as his church family. He was a very outgoing man who would talk to most anyone and he loved to tease people (you knew he really liked you if you got teased). He was one of those who would do anything to help someone in need. We celebrate Tom and the amazing life he has lived. Tom will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Jerry, Stanley, and Alan. He is survived by his wife Betty, sons Thomas, Stephen, George, Sam, and daughters Pamela, Cheryl and Laurie. Tom has 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
