Theresa Ranee Newberry, loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, left us on February 20, 2023, very unexpectedly, surrounded by family. Theresa was born June 3, 1958, to Edward Lee Newberry and Betty Wetzstein Newberry in Twin Falls, Idaho. After her parents’ divorce, her mother met and married George Drain when Theresa was a year old. She was raised on the family farm with her two older brothers, two older sisters, and one younger brother.
Theresa had many jobs, but none that she loved more than working at the Northside Bus Company. She worked there for 13 years. She loved her bus kids like they were her own. She also loved riding on the back of motorcycles with her husband while going on road trips just to get lost for the day.
She got sick 13 years ago with an auto immune disease that damaged her kidneys and that required dialysis. She tolerated it well for being on it for so long.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Gene Bliss; her parents, George and Betty Drain; one sister, Ceceile McBenge; and nephew, Michael Turner.
She leaves behind four wonderful daughters, Elizabeth (William) Smith; Sherina (Harold) Jones; Casey (Anthony) Phillips; and Amanda (Chad) Wilkinson; four stepchildren, Kevin, Larissa, Tesha and Demi; as well as 23 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings, Scott (Joceyly) Drain, Ed (Yolanda) Newberry, Shonna (Scott) Fraser, and Mark (Leisa) Drain (Leisa); and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Theresa’s Life will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome. There will be a potluck to follow the service for family and friends at the Quality Inn & Suites. So please bring a dish to share with all!
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Theresa’s memorial webpage at www.farnsworthmortuary.com.
