SHOSHONE

Sparr Gordan McKnight, a beloved father, friend, and outlaw, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on March 9, 2025, at the age of 54. Born on May 21, 1970, Sparr lived a life full of joy, adventure, and laughter.

Sparr was known for his love of family, friends, hotrods, motorcycles, hard work, and causing mischief. His infectious sense of humor and zest for life made him the life of every gathering. He was known for his witty jokes and escapades, bringing smiles to many.

As a skilled general contractor, Sparr's legacy lives on through the numerous projects he completed through McKnight Construction in Sun Valley, and many other projects throughout southern Idaho. His work on Thunder Springs, Zenergy, and the Pine Ridge Townhomes stands as a testament to his dedication, craftsmanship, and drive to succeed.

Sparr was preceded in death by his father, Tim McKnight; and his brothers, Billy McKnight and Louie McKnight. He is survived by his life partner, Wendi McKnight; their children, Chaynce McKnight (Heather), Jaryn McKnight (Katelyn), and Brayan McKnight; and their grandchildren, Jaydenn McKnight, Kaimaya McKnight, and James Sanchez; his mothers, Sharon McKnight and Debi McKnight; his brothers, Tim McKnight, and Robert McKnight (Kendle); his sisters, Jody Prewitt (Tony), Kristi McKnight, Kathleen Baker (Duane), Jennifer Bronson (Lee), and Erin Post.

Sparr will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His spirit of excitement and adventure will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.

A celebration of life will be held on his birthday, May 21, 2025, at Shoshone City Park at 2 PM. It will be a day filled with rock and roll, hotrods, burnouts, and laughter. May 21 is a Wednesday, but in true Sparr style, we would like to interrupt everyone’s work week to send off a legend to the next chapter of his story.

Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Sparr’s memorial webpage at www.farnsworthmotuary.com.
