Sherry Hackworth

August 25, 1961 — May 20, 2015

Jerome- Sherry Lynn Hackworth, 53, of Jerome, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday May 20, 2015.  She was born August 25, 1961, in Jerome, Idaho, the daughter of Dess R. Johnson and Bernice Reece Johnson.  Sherry was raised in Jerome and was part of the Jerome High School graduating class of 1979.  She married her high school sweetheart, Alan E. Hackworth, on June 4, 1977. They made their home in Jerome where they raised two children.  Sherry was a lifelong member of the Assembly of God Church and worshipped at Life Church of the Magic Valley.  She loved being outdoors and was especially good at hunting and fishing.  Mostly she loved being a Mom and Grandma and spoiling her grandkids.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Alan Hackworth; their children, Steven Hackworth (Kimberly Sherbenou) and Jeanice (Jerry) Gonterman, all of Jerome;  four grandchildren; Ally Farnsworth, India Farnsworth, Harley Hackworth, Layne Hackworth (Angela Howard), a Step-granddaughter Destiney Gonterman and one great-grandson; Ryker Hackworth, her mother, Bernice Johnson; her siblings, Danny (Ruth) Johnson, Denice (Steve) Bartlett, and Jack Johnson; and many extended family members and friends.  She is preceded in death by her father.

A Celebration of Sherry's life will be conducted at 11:00 AM , Wednesday May 27, 2015 , at Life Church of the Magic Valley, 25 East Nez Perce (100 South), Jerome, with Pastor Kevin Lindley presiding.  Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome.
