It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of Shawna Kay Harbaugh.
Shawna was born February 23, 1959, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Adeline Marie Dickson Parrott and Bruce Roger Parrott. She passed away February 21, 2025, after being released by the earthly bonds of pain that have held her down for so long. Her chains have been broken, and she has been set free.
She attended school in Twin Falls until moving to Gooding in the 5th grade where she met a skinny, dark-haired boy named Terry with whom she became smitten with. She would go on to graduate from Gooding High School and marry that dark-haired boy in January 1977. They’ve been inseparable since!
Shawna worked for Moss Greenhouse for so many years that we can’t remember anything else that she did other than be the flower lady! She had an amazing green thumb, always had beautiful hanging baskets, and vegetables in her garden long before any of the rest of us did.
She loved to yard sale and go thrift store shopping. She seemed to find all the great deals. She passed the bug on to more than one of her grandchildren and nieces and nephews who now carry on that torch!
Shawna didn’t have hobbies. Her family and friends were her hobbies. If she was holding a baby, buying treats, teaching one of the kids to play card games like spoons or donkey, going “junking” to find something that one of the kids would drool over, she was in her height and glory.
While wife, mother, and grandmother are titles she held and was very proud of them, through some of the memories shared, she’s been described as comforter, nurturer, understanding, funny, loving, the best, coffee drinker, worker, forgiving, generous, a free bird with a childlike soul, reliable, the cool aunt, a great cook, caring, and always welcoming. Her door was always open as was her heart.
Shawna leaves behind a large family who will miss her. She is survived by her children, TJ (Jennifer) Harbaugh, Joshua (Bri) Harbaugh, Matthew (Celina) Harbaugh, and Megan (CJ) McGuire. She is also, survived by her grandchildren, Oliver, Christopher, William, Ethan, Chloe, Madison, Minnie, Kody, Ava, Mason, Arianna, Auto, Jackie, Bradley, Kolton and Charlie. She leaves behind sisters, Ruth (Marten) Vonk, Sherry (Andrew) DePew, Gina (Mike) Ordaz, and Holly Parrott. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, greats and some to come as well as cousins by the dozens and many children that call her grandma, aunt and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adeline and Bruce Parrott; sister, Cindy Nathan; brother, Eddie Parrott; Mother and Father-in-Law Frieda and Ed Harbaugh.
