Sharon Traughber

Jerome-   Sharon Traughber, 77, of Jerome, Idaho and long time Burley resident, went to be with her Lord on October 16, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. Through it all, she never lost her amazing sense of humor.

She was born July 13, 1938 to Willard Felix and Acelia Rachael Watson in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She attended school in Pocatello, Idaho. She married Donald Eller in 1953 and to that union were born three children; Dove (Kelly) Kraus of Rupert, Idaho; Shane (Callie) Higbee of Buhl, Idaho and Deena (Gene) Benavidez of Twin Falls, Idaho.

She then married Don Higbee in May 1961. They owned a janitorial business and also owned and operated Sha-Don poultry farm where they raised chickens for meat and feathers for fly-fishing. She worked at Rite-Aid in Burley for many years and was well liked and known for her strong work ethic.

She then moved to the Bel-Air Trailer Park in Burley where she met the man who became the love of her life, Clyde Traughber. They married March 29, 2002 in Laughlin, Nevada. Sharon acquired nine stepchildren; Clyde (Becky) Traughber, David (Kellee) Traughber, Jake (Jennifer) Traughber, Mike (Theresa) Traughber, Rick (Shari) Traughber and Jeff Traughber, all of Jerome; Chris (Kenny) Allison of Gooding, Tamara (Jerry) Meine of Dillon, Montana, and Paul Traughber of Twin Falls. She was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Clyde and Sharon enjoyed family get-togethers, camping, gambling, going to auctions, thrift stores, and road trips wherever their Ford truck would lead. She enjoyed fly-fishing, remodeling their home, sewing, and refinishing antique furniture.  She was a loving wife and mother and so much fun to be around. Her loss has left a hole in all of our hearts.

Our family would like to thank Hospice Visions of Twin Falls and Desano Place Assisted Living of Jerome for the tender loving care they all provided for Sharon.

A visitation will be held Tuesday evening, October 20, 2015, at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 South Lincoln, Jerome, where family and friends may call from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday October 21, 2015, also at Farnsworth Mortuary, with a visitation beginning at 1:00 PM.  Interment will follow in the Jerome Cemetery.
