Ruth Helen Fraga, 58, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023, in Twin Falls, Idaho. She was born January 20, 1965, in Salmon, Idaho to Louise E. Harper and James C. Harper. Ruth has four siblings; two brothers, William "Bill", and Peter "Pete", and two sisters, Karen and Kathleen "Katie".
Ruth and Fredy Juan Fraga were married August 9, 2001. Ruth had two children from previous marriages, a daughter, Rebecca Lauren Calvo, and a son, Kyle Lee Ashton.
She loved being with family. Ruth loved the little ones and made special efforts to make or find that unique gift for them. She enjoyed celebrating special occasions and holidays with family and friends, including the pets, and always brought a special energy to the party.
Ruth’s career in assisted living involved home health care visitation, caring for people with disabilities, and in-home health clients. Ruth developed deep, special, and long-lasting relationships with her clients. She loved them and they loved her.
Ruth enjoyed spending time and volunteering at the Senior Citizens Center and was an active Red Hatter member. She enjoyed crafts and spending time with her family and friends.
Ruth had her own special connection with a higher power and honestly strived to bring good to the world by doing for others, getting and giving special gifts, and supporting various causes. She took time to volunteer for special events at her church and social gatherings.
Ruth is survived by her children, Rebecca Calvo and Kyle Ashton; sisters, Karen (Jim) McDowell, and Kathleen "Katie" (Bill) Hoffman; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louise E. Stoddard Harper and James C. Harper; and her brothers, Peter "Pete" Wells and William "Bill" Wells.
A memorial service for Ruth will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church, 262 E Ave A, Jerome.
The family is requesting in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) in Ruth’s name, bcrf@bcrf.org.
