Roger Dale Taylor passed away peacefully in his home on November 26, 2024. He was born on December 15, 1953 in Wendell, Idaho, to Alvin and Genette Taylor.
Roger grew up going between his home in Jerome, Idaho and the School for the Deaf and Blind in Gooding, where he graduated in 1972. Roger met many lifelong friends at school, as he would spend all week there and when he came home for the weekends, he was doated over by his parents and big sister, Karen.
Roger spent many years as a Boy Scout where he earned the prestigious honor of Eagle Scout.
Roger started his career at Safeway, eventually moving on to Volco (Franklin Building Supply) in the truss department, building trusses, and eventually retired from Farmhouse Collections where he built pallets.
In Roger’s spare time he enjoyed watching football, NASCAR races and golf. Every year he would go with his family up North to camp and gather fire wood. While camping he enjoyed fishing and hanging out with his binoculars, glassing the mountain side for critters such as deer, elk and mountain goats. He also loved golfing with friends and family and hunting to fill his freezer and making jerky.
Roger was a member of an amazing deaf club, and enjoyed getting together with all of his friends every month for the Deaf Pride Nights.
Roger loved his family and always loved to spoil his nieces and nephews, then his great nieces and nephews, and eventually his great great nieces and nephews.
Roger was preceed in death by all his grandnparents; parents, Alvin and Genette Taylor; his sister, Karen Stuart; and his niece, Brenda Rowsell.
Roger is survived by his nephews, Richard (Mindy) Stuart of South Jordan, Utah; and Bryan Stuart of Filer, Idaho, his niece, Rachel (Nate) Guymon of Filer, Idaho; great nephews, Eric Stuart, Bryce (McKenzi) Stuart, Skylar (Mack) Stuart, and Baylee (Karen) Carney; great nieces Makitah Stuart, Ashley Stone, Kara Rowsell, Katie Rowsell, Amara Guymon and Lilyona Guymon; and some great great nephews and nieces.
A Celebration of Roger’s Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 13, 2024 at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Roger’s memorial webpage at www.farnsworthmortuary.com.
