Jerome- Robert H. "Guii" Taylor, Jr., of Jerome, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on December 18, 2014, at age 53. His sister, Anna, and his daughters, Amber and Shontell, were at his side during his last hours and held his hand as he passed. He will be remembered best for his service to others. If someone needed help, despite his disabilities and limitations, he would be the first to volunteer. In fact, when hurricane Katrina hit, Guii left Idaho to help with the clean-up. He loved fishing, cooking, baking his secret recipe zucchini bread and giving to others. He had a limited income but tried to send money monthly to several organizations to feed children and help disabled veterans. In November, after he had been hospitalized several weeks, a letter to a Native American orphanage was discovered. He was writing to apologize that he could only send one dollar because he was broke. He vowed to send more when he could. Guii would do without so others wouldn't have to. He was especially fond of animals. During his last few years, his pride and joy was his dogs, Sister, Onchi and Marcus. They were treated much like a person would treat their best friend- with love, affection and plenty of treats. Guii was extremely proud of his three children and his only complaint was not being able to spend more time with them. He loved showing pictures and videos of his dogs and of course his six grandchildren and two nephews.
Guii told his sister that the best night of his life in a long time, was the Friday after Thanksgiving when all of his children and grandchildren gathered to have Chinese food with him. He was especially proud and had to show off his grandchildren to the residents at the care center where he stayed for a week.
During his life, Guii was never lazy. He worked as a plumber, tow truck driver, carpet layer and electrician. He owned his own business, GT Specialties, and was a master carpet layer. He loved working on computers, playing music, being with his children, playing with his dogs, watching comedy, refinishing furniture, gardening and baking. At one point in his life, he was not only an avid fisherman, but he also did water ballet. Guii believed in the Heavenly Father and was baptized a member of the LDS Church. Earlier, he was also committed to the A.A. program and told others, "It works if you work it."
Guii is preceded in death by his parents, Elida Reyna and Robert Taylor; paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Taylor; maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Inez Lopez; uncles Tuck Taylor and Wilford Taylor and aunt Juanita Taylor.
He is survived by his big sister, Anna Stowe (Jim Churchman); his daughters, Amber Coleman Taylor and Shontell Mendoza; his son, Robert Parsons; niece, Lindsy Thomas (Tyler), six grandchildren, two nephews, his dogs, and numerous cousins and friends.
