Robert “Bob” Glen Jackson, 73, of Jerome, Idaho, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024, surrounded by his children.
Bob was born on February 21, 1951, to Glen and Claribel Smith Jackson in Wendell, Idaho. The third of four children, he grew up in Jerome, Idaho, where he attended school. He later studied welding at the College of Southern Idaho (CSI) and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force in 1975, stationed at Reese Air Force Base in Texas. In 1985, Bob earned his Master Electrician certificate, a testament to his expertise and dedication to his craft.
In June of 1971, Bob married Sandra Odenwalt, and the couple later divorced. In 1972, he married Maxine (Jones) Young. Together, Bob and Maxine shared 30 years of marriage and raised seven children: Robert Jackson II, Julie McKeel, Richard Jackson, Suzanne Prescott, Elizabeth Meyers, James Jackson, and Joe Jackson.
Bob’s life was defined by hard work, service, and an unwavering dedication to others. Known for his generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand, Bob was active in his community as a Cub Master and Assistant Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America, where he shared his time and talents to shape young lives. He also devoted countless hours to supporting community events and church projects as a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Bob’s professional career spanned many roles, reflecting his versatile expertise in construction, heavy equipment operation, and electrical work. However, his true passion lay in demolition projects, which he approached with both skill and fearless enthusiasm.
Bob is survived by his sister, Elaine Martin; his brother, Rocky Jackson; his seven children; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Claribel, and his brother, Layne.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we take comfort knowing Bob is free from pain. He cherished the opportunity to reconnect with family at the Smith reunion in Moore, Idaho, in the summer of 2023 and at the Jackson family gathering in Jerome this fall.
Honoring Bob’s wishes, his family will not be holding a funeral or burial service. His legacy of hard work, kindness, and service lives on in the countless lives he touched and the family who loved him deeply.
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Bob’s memorial webpage at www.farnsworthmortuary.com.
