Robert Faye Henry, “Bob”, age 88, died on January 26, 2025, in Twin Falls, Idaho. Bob was born on July 21, 1936, in Twin Falls, Idaho to Raymond Franklin Henry and Pearl Naylor Henry. Bob was the youngest of three children. He attended Eden Elementary and graduated from Valley High School in 1953. He attended Idaho State College for 2 years. After college, Bob returned to Eden and went into the family business of Henry’s Conoco, working at the station and delivering bulk fuel to the surrounding farming community.
Bob married Mavis Colleen Grose on December 8, 1957, and they were later sealed in the Boise, Idaho Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bob and Colleen built a house south of Eden shortly after their marriage. They lived there until 1966, when they bought a ranch in the Hunt area. They later added the BLM ground north of Eden and Hazelton. As a family, they fenced in all of this ground. Later on, other farms were added. They worked hard as a family and raised beef cattle, race horses, and farmed, growing malt barley, alfalfa, beans, corn, potatoes, and sugar beets. In 1990, they moved to Jerome to continue their farming and ranching operation. Bob and Colleen were inducted into the Magic Valley Cattlemen’s Hall of Fame and also selected as the Idaho Fish and Game Cooperators of the Year. He was very proud of the quality of his registered cattle, his race and cutting/cow horses, and the accolades they received.
Bob and Colleen have 5 children, Timy, (died in infancy), Lori, Bob Jr., Jeff, and Holly. They have 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Bob loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a great supporter of all of their activities. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, jamborees, horse racing, showing cattle, cutting, team sorting, and precision shooting. He was very successful in all his endeavors and had many winning horses and champion cattle. Later in life, Bob was very involved in 600 yard bench rest shooting, often shooting 5 shot groups of less than an inch.
Bob served on various boards and committees including the ASCS committee, Jerome Fair Board, and Planning & Zoning committee. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a bishopric counselor of the Hunt Ward until it was combined with the Hazelton Ward.
Bob and Colleen were married for 67 years and celebrated their 50th anniversary with a memorable cruise to Mexico with the entire family.
Bob is survived by his wife, Colleen of Jerome; four children, Lori (Bret) of Hazelton, Bob Jr. (Audrey) of Jerome, Jeff (Natalie) of Jerome, and Holly (Chris) of Salem, OR; 10 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
