Rafael Martinez

Jerome- Rafael Martinez Ramirez, 80, of Jerome, passed away Sunday December 27, 2015, in Twin Falls.  He was born October 8, 1935, in Rincon de Pitzquintla, Jalpan, Queretaro, Mexico, the son of Nicasio and Teodosia Martinez Ramirez.  Rafael moved to Idaho in the early seventies and worked as a ranch hand until becoming ill in 2002.  He was a social and active man and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.  Rafael was a devoted Catholic and loved his church.  He will always be remembered as a man who was always willing and eager to help anyone in need.  He was a man for his people.

Rafael is survived by his daughters, Reyna Mendoza, Antonia Mendoza and Josefa Martinez;  his only son, Romulo (Maria) Martinez; his grandchildren, Valentin (Erin K.M.), Alexa, Maribel, Julianna, Angeli, Federico, Yolanda, Leo and Jenise;  his great-grandchildren, Ellyus, Elilana, Eva, Aiden Jose and Alexis; and many extended family members and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation with Vigil services will be conducted Friday January 1, 2016 , at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 216 2nd Avenue East, Jerome, where family and friends may call at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. , Saturday January 2, 2016 , also at St. Jerome Catholic Church, with Fr.
