Panzie Darlene Garcia-Sevillano passed peacefully into the next life on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones at the young age of 65 due to complications from diabetes. Panzie was born in Jerome at 3:30 A.M. on July 22, 1959 to William and Doris Quintana. She was raised in Jerome and graduated from Jerome High School in 1978.
Panzie married Jose Garcia June 1980 and to this union her 4 daughters were born, they later divorced. In August of 1995, Panzie met Alejandro Sevillano and they have been together ever since, they were officially married in 2021. To this union they adopted Vanesa and Alexender “Zander”.
When Panzie graduated high school, she said her future plans were working and she did just that, she worked at Tupperware until she moved her family to Arizona. Upon her return from Arizona, she became a stay-at-home mom until her youngest was in school full time, and she returned to the work force. Mom worked as a caregiver at Unibase, the US Postal service, Cactus Pete’s, TSI, and Dell until her health forced her to be disabled.
Panzie loved shopping, going to yard sales, playing Bingo, dancing, shooting pool (she was on a few pool leagues at Northside Club), crocheting, baking (she made a few wedding cakes for family and friends, a Quinceanera cake, and many memorable birthday cakes), gambling-even though she lost, and fishing. Mom had many fond memories of fishing at Stanley, Magic Reservoir, Dog Creek, and the Hagerman ponds. She claimed that she could always out fish anyone and she shared her joy of fishing with her girls and grandchildren.
Mom loved the 4th of July, she couldn’t wait to celebrate, she always bought the biggest fireworks she could find and held some memorable BBQ’s with an amazing firework show, that may or may not have had a small fire that required her nephews to put it out. Mom’s love for gambling included raffles and she was super excited when she won “The Godfather” firework package from her favorite firework stand, “Mikie’s”.
Mom also loved Christmas and her Hallmark ornaments; she was an avid collector. Mom didn’t realize that she kind of started collecting ornaments back in 1983 after the birth of her 2nd daughter because she didn’t like the Baby’s first Christmas ornament, so she bought the 1983 Frosty Friends ornament with the cute Eskimo and white seal instead. Mom couldn’t wait to receive her yearly Dreambook and attend ornament premier in July. She shared her love of Hallmark ornaments with her daughter Erika and together they joined the Snowbuddies of Boise and attended several artist signings and KOC events in Kansas City, Missouri.
We loved that mom always seemed to be up for a random or not so random road trip weather it was up to Boise to go shopping or a BSU game or to Arizona/Mexico to reconnect with family, or Jackpot to see if she could win big!
