Norma Capps

Meridian- Norma Lucille Paris Capps, 85, of Meridian and formerly of Jerome, passed away peacefully at home Thursday morning, October 15, 2015 in Meridian, Idaho.

Norma was born July 24, 1930 in Kaw City, Oklahoma to William Ora Paris and Elva Edith Pittman Paris.  Her father worked in construction and law enforcement moving the family to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Sun Valley before settling in Jerome, Idaho.  She graduated from Jerome High School (previously Central Elementary) in 1948.  She loved bowling, softball and football and was very proud that she played for the Keels Coeds Softball Team.  She was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan.

In 1950 she married Kenneth William Capps.  Together, they had four children:  Brad, Paula, Rhonda and Dirk.  After their divorce, she worked for Glen Jenkins Chevrolet in Twin Falls for two years before moving to San Jose, California.  She was employed at Larry Hopkins Pontiac for 31 years until her retirement in 1994 when she moved back to Jerome.

She is survived by all four of her children – Brad (Marsha) Capps of Meridian Idaho, Paula Farrell of Vancouver Washington, Rhonda Alford of Boston Massachusetts and Dirk (Nuk) Capps of Seattle Washington; five grandchildren (Ron, Ryan, Leah, Gavin and Gabriel), several great grandchildren, and her brother Joseph “Jay” Paris.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother (Carl Paris) and her very special friend, Nile Darling.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Jerome Cemetery, 901 West Avenue I, Jerome.   Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome, Idaho.
