The legendary Dairy Farmer, Michael Fred Stubbs, 78, of Hazelton, Idaho permanently retired from this life on December 8, 2023, after a short battle with cancer. He was happy to be reunited with his wife, Carolyn Marie Nelson, but sad to leave behind his seven amazing children.
Mike was born on July 17, 1945 in Provo, Utah to J. Fred Stubbs and Elaine Bott Stubbs. He was the oldest of brothers, Russell and Eldon, and sister, Nancy. Mike was raised in Provo. It was there that he met his wife. They were married in the Logan Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on August 5, 1965. He worked as a mechanic and a dairy farmer, during which time they were blessed with 7 children, Myra (Gordon) Sears, Traca (Dale) Keller, Debra (Don) Nielsen, Jay (Megan) Stubbs, Charles (Hilary) Stubbs, Joseph (Mandy) Stubbs, and Darci (Brad) Miller.
During his life he was able to build his own dairy farms including barns. His first in Genola, Utah and the current one in Hazelton, Idaho. He instilled a great dairy legacy with his family.
Mike loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was always willing to share his beliefs with anyone who would listen. He had many friends who he could often spot, even after not seeing them for years. He had a great gift of remembering names and places.
His love of Dairying was known throughout the dairy community, and he loved to help and serve others as often as he could.
Mike was welcomed to heaven by those who preceded him, his parents, brother, daughter-in-law, great grandson and his wife. He is survived by his 7 children and their spouses, 34 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hazelton, Idaho. A graveside service will follow at 11:00am, at Hazelton Cemetery.
