Mary Mashelle Barnes passed away after a long battle with Guillain Barré Syndrome peacefully at her home in Twin Falls, Idaho at the young age of 57. Born Mary “Mashelle” Dobson in Vallejo, California, on February 25, 1961 to Billie (Coleman) and William Dobson III, who were married July 16, 1960.
Mashelle was a vibrant child, with a passion for horses that touched her heart and connected with her soul. With Mashelle’s father in the Navy, she was given the opportunity to discover many different places and the family settled in Scott City, Kansas where Mashelle attended Scott City High School, graduating in 1979. Mashelle was a young woman of many talents; art, sewing, crochet, beading, singing, horse riding and barrel racing. Mashelle’s greatest joy was being a mother and she felt her greatest accomplishment in life was her children, Jerrod and Jessica, whom she loved with all her heart. She always made every holiday memorable, with special projects, meals and stories, Mashelle was a devoted mother.
Mashelle’s humor was infectious, with the ability to brighten a room, her smile brought such joy to those she encountered. Her love for God shined through, even during the darkest times when Mashelle became critically ill, and permanently disabled. Mashelle’s body never held her back from being a compassionate and caring person. She touched the lives of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
Mashelle is survived by her daughter, Jessica (Adam) Winn; son, Jerrod Siver; many grandchildren; father, William Dobson III; brother, William Dobson IV; and many more extended family members. She was preceded in death by her mother, Billie (Coleman) Dobson III.
