Marie Simpson

Marie Dellos Hennefer Simpson peacefully passed away on March 6, 2017 at the age of 91. Marie was born August 14, 1925 in Murtaugh, Idaho the daughter of Peter Dellos and Caroline Gohl.

She married Roy Lehi Hennefer, May 10, 1946. Roy and Marie were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 9, 1957. Marie was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. However, she had a special place in her heart for the Primary children, serving a total of 22 years in Primary.

Marie was the mother of three children, Mary Ann, Robert Leroy and Dennis Ray. After the untimely death of Roy, Marie continued on to raise her children in the Carey Valley. She was devoted to her family and showed strength, faith and courage in all of life’s challenges. She loved to cook, and shared her talents with many in her church and community. In her later life, she found great joy in providing meals and lodging for the hunters with Little Wood River Outfitters.

Marie is survived by her children, Mary Ann Fetzer, Robert Leroy Hennefer (Carla), and Dennis Ray Hennefer (Mary Ann); 21 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren with 3 more on the way. She is also survived by her siblings, Pete Dellos (Ellen), William “Bill” Dellos (Karen), and David John Dellos (Sue).  She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Hennefer;  husband, Lorin Simpso n; daughter-in-law, Terri Hennefer; and grandson, Austin Roy Hennefer.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Carey LDS Chapel with Bishop Mike Adamson officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.  Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary, Jerome, Idaho.
