Margaret Cross

Jerome-Margaret Ellen Cross, 76, of Jerome, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. She was born Aug. 31, 1938, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Lester Edward DeWald and Flora Hill DeWald. She was raised in Syracuse, NY. Margaret married Robert Carl Gonzalski, Sr., and they raised three sons. Her first job was at Lennox, in Syracuse. She moved to Jerome in 2001 to be close to her son and his family. Margaret was a voracious reader and was an excellent cook, known for her Italian dishes and desserts. She had a large collection of spoons and owls. Margaret was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Margaret is survived by two sons, Robert C (Judy) Gonzalski, Jr. of Jerome; and Jason R (Ana) Gonzalski of Buffalo, NY; her brother Neill (Linda) DeWald; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Scott Edward Gonzalski; and two of her nephews, Michael and Steven DeWald. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the S.P.C.A. or the Ronald McDonald house. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday July 2, 2015 at 6 pm at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 South Lincoln, Jerome.
