Margaret Atwood

April 15, 1921 — August 17, 2015

Margaret Mary Atwood

Margaret was born on April 15, 1921 in Scranton Pennsylvania to John L. Dranchak and Mary Wowchko Dranchak, being the youngest of 6 sisters and 4 brothers.

She came to Jerome, Idaho in 1942 and married Homer Atwood that same year.  She had four children, Robert (Bob), Michael (Mike), Gayla, and Rita and loved/lived for her children, church, and grandchildren.

Professionally, Margaret worked at the North Side Inn as a Desk Clerk from 1964 to 1966 and then took a position at the North Side News as a Typesetter, staying employed there from 1966 until her retirement in 1988.

Personally, Margaret never knew a stranger, was a great lady, had a perfect smile, with many long lifetime friends thru her lifetime.   She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Jerome for over 50 years, where she took an active role, holding many offices, and often taught Sunday school.

Margaret is preceded in death by her mother, father, 5 sisters, 4 brothers, son Robert, daughter Rita and nephews Jeremy Winn and Ryan Atwood.

She is survived by son Mike and daughter Gayla, both residing in Boise Idaho, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grand-children and 5 great-great grandchildren and dear friends.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday August 21, 2015, in the Jerome Cemetery, 901 West Avenue I, Jerome.
