Lucile Garner Thomason, 91, of Jerome, Idaho made her debut on May 21, 1926 in Rupert, Idaho. Her parents were Ray and Clara Beazer Garner who farmed near Rupert. Lucile grew up on the farm and graduated from Rupert High School in 1945.
Lucile spent some time working as a telephone operator before going on a mission to the North Central States Mission for the LDS Church. Sometime around 1950-51, some friends introduced her to a young fella named Rex Thomason by mail. He was in Montana, also on a mission, and they corresponded by mail regularly. They finally met in the spring of 1951 and got married in May of that same year in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Lucile was an active and valiant member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had several different positions while raising three kids and helping on the farm Southeast of Jerome. In the early 60's she worked at the Ore-Ida plant in Burley for a few seasons. In the 70's she worked at the Tupperware plant in Jerome for several years.
Lucile's main interests were in the church and her family. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and reading.
Lucile was the youngest of six children, all of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rex; her son, Rex Allen; and her daughter, Ellen Kaye.
She is survived by her son, David (Jill); four granddaughters, Natalee, Marin, Audree, and Kaitlin; and extended family and friends.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Creekside Care Center and Hospice, as well as her church support folk.
