Lonnie Luper

Jerome- Lonnie Ray Luper, 74, of Jerome, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by the love of his family from a lifetime of hard work and the effects of COPD.  Lonnie was born July 24, 1940, to Willie Wilburn and Gladys Mae Sims Luper at Compton, Arkansas.

Lonnie married Rebecca Jeannette Deakins June 26, 1960, in Arkansas and the couple would have celebrated 55 years of marriage this year. He raised his family by working as a truck driver, ranch hand, cowboy, carpenter, and an AI technician for the last 35 years before retiring in 2013.

Lonnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.  Family was a very important part of his life and he was quite proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Lonnie is survived by his wife, Jeannette, children; Laura and Allen Dean, Eddie Luper, Lonnette Luper, David and Breanna Luper, all of Jerome, Dustin and Lindsay Luper of Provo, South Dakota, and Pam Luper also of Jerome, 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one honorary granddaughter, and brothers Aaron & Kim Luper of Everett, Washington and Tom Luper of Jerome; aunts Juanita Luper of Jerome, and Eanard Villines of Hunstville, Arkansas, a host of family and friends in Arkansas and Idaho, and many special friends including Leon & Linda Mcguire of Preston, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother James Edward, one sister Marie and husband Doyle Dille, and four nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday March 25, 2015, at the Jerome Church of Christ, 513 S Buchanan St., Jerome.
