Jerome - Lenna Genette Wilson Taylor, 83, of Jerome, passed away Saturday June 20, 2015, at her home. She was born November 5, 1931, in Alpena Pass, Arkansas, the daughter of Francis Renaud Wilson and Effie Delores Eastham Wilson.
At age two, the family moved to a farm at Bear Creek Springs. She attended schools at Ridgeway and Hopewell, where she was one of seven students, with only one boy, who graduated in 1949. On March 25, 1950, she married Alvin Lee Taylor in Harrison, Arkansas. They were married for 65 years.
They came to Jerome, Idaho in April of 1950, where Al could work for her uncle. They liked it so well in Jerome, they ended up staying and raising their family there.
Genette spent most of her working years as a homemaker and also sold Avon for many years. One of her passions was crocheting and she crocheted each of her great-grandchildren a baby blanket. Genette was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church and worshipped at First Baptist Church in Jerome. She was active in the Baptiwed classes and the ABW (American Baptist Women), where she held various offices.
Genette is survived by her husband, Al, of Jerome; their children, Karen Stuart and Roger Taylor; three grandchildren, Richard (Mindy) Stuart, Bryan Stuart and Rachel Stuart; 10 great-grandchildren, Eric, Makitah, Ashley, Bryce, Skylar, Kara, Baylee, Katie, Amara and Lilyona; three brothers, Bob (Wanda) Wilson, Allen Wilson and Kenny (Sharon) Wilson; and many extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Frances Finney and Caroline Wilson; and one granddaughter, Brenda Rowsell.
Genette's family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Adina, Sue, Tori, Jessica, Stacey, Mike, Dick and all the staff at Hospice Visions.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM , Saturday June 27, 2015, at the First Baptist Church, 308 1st Avenue East, Jerome, with Pastor Jim Loewen, officiating. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Sign language interpretation will be provided. Genette's family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in her name to: First Baptist Church, 308 1st Ave. East, Jerome, ID 83338. Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome.
