Leland Delano "Lee" Payton, 82, of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 1, 2017 and went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Lee was born May 26, 1934 in Jerome, Idaho to Ernest and Gladys Payton. He graduated high school in 1952 and served 4 years in the U.S. Navy. In 1963 he married Helen Reddick of Twin Falls. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage together.
Lee was a born again Christian and a member of the Jerome Free Will Baptist Church. During his lifetime Lee was a pipefitter-welder and owner-operator of Lee's Radiator in Jerome for over 20 years. Lee enjoyed fly-fishing, horseshoe pitching, and later got hooked on the game of golf.
Lee is survived by his wife, Helen of Twin Falls, ID; four children, Kerry (Darren) Jenkins of Meridian, ID; Phil (Debbie) Payton of Hermiston, OR; Connie (Mike) Andersen of Twin Falls, ID; and Steve Payton of Twin Falls, ID; brother, Stanley (Lesha) Payton of Pocatello, ID; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also important in Lee's life were his three baby kids, Dachshunds- Roxxie, Maxx and Riley.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael; and sister, Ruby Rutherford.
A Celebration of Lee's Life will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, May 5, 2017 at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln, Jerome.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Twin Falls Humane Society, 420 Victory Ave, Twin Falls, Idaho 83301.
