Lavena Perme

Lavena Matilda (Twitchell) Perme was called home to her Father in Heaven Sunday, October 8, 2017 after a three-year battle with cancer.  At this time, her family would like to thank the staff at Syringa Place in Twin Falls, her neighbors on 1 ^st Street, her ward members, her grandchildren Trevor and Ona Perme, and her sister Iletta Gifford.  Each of the aforementioned people played a significant role in caring for Lavena as she was able to do so less and less in her final days.

Lavena was born on October 20 ^th , 1924 in Cannonville Utah. She was one of ten children.  In 1939 she moved to Jerome, Idaho, and had remained a member of the community since.

In 1942 Lavena married Clifford Lowe; they were later divorced, but together they had two children: Bonnie and Dale.  In 1953 she married Frank Perme, and welcomed his two sons (Frank and Randy) as her own.  Together Frank and Lavena had two children: Layne and Lisa.

Frank and Lavena spent 53 wonderful years together.  They loved to travel, and spent many years as a part of the Good Sam’s club.  They traveled all over the country fishing and camping in their fifth wheel, and made many friends throughout the years.

After Frank passed away in 2006, Lavena traveled to Hawaii and New York with her best friend and younger sister Iletta.  Lavena and Iletta shared so many memories throughout their lifetime, and were often mistaken for twins.

Lavena loved her family very much.  She loved to garden, cook and bake (and feed people), do crossword puzzles, all kinds of crafts and sewing, and laugh (she had a wonderful laugh.)

She was always beautifully put together, never missing her weekly hair appointment, and her nails always manicured.

Mom/Grandma we love you a bushel and a peck, and we sure will miss you! Thank you for making our lives a better and brighter place.

Lavena was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank, her children Dale (Kathy) Perme, and Bonnie (George) Jenkins, four brothers, and four sisters.

Lavena is survived by her son Layne (Bonnie) Perme of Meridian, daughter Lisa (Greg) Greer of Twin Falls, sister Iletta (Kenneth) Gifford of Jerome, stepson Frank Harvey Perme of Phoenix, Arizona, stepson Randy (Jorja) Perme of Austin, Texas, and numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her great joy.

A viewing will be held from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Friday, October 13, 2017 at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 south Lincoln Ave, Jerome. A Graveside service will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Jerome Cemetery, 901 West Ave I, Jerome.
