Kenneth Robbins

d. March 16, 2015

Jerome -  Kenneth L. “Kenny” Robbins, 76, bid farewell to family and friends at his daughters home on March 16, 2015.

He was born at home in Jerome on August 24, 1938 to Charley and Iva Kehrer Robbins. He was raised with his two brothers and two sisters and attended Jerome schools.

As a young man, Kenny loved the outdoors, sports, cars, fishing and eventually a pretty young lady by the name of Mary (Blond) Whismore. They were married on February 23, 1958 in Jerome.

Kenny was devoted to his wife and children, and so proud of their accomplishments. He always worked hard to provide a good life for his young family, including a time when he held down two full-time jobs plus being in the National Guard. He then went to work for Triple C Concrete, where he retired after 41 years.

He was an honest, hardworking and kind man, who was always the first one there to lend a helping hand to anyone. He brought a strong back and a gentle smile to such occasions.

He was an avid fan of all sports or activities that his children or grandchildren were a part of. Kenny & Blond were always at those activities every chance that they could be.

After retiring, he and Blond sold their home and spent the next 15 years on wheels, making new friends, enjoying the old friends and drowning worms. Winters were spent in Arizona and summers as Campground Hosts at the Hayspur Fish Hatchery in Picabo, Idaho, where many wonderful memories were share with loved ones.

Ken is preceded by his parents and daughter, Jerri.

He is survived by his wife, Blond, children; Kaye Turner, Dale (Renee) Robbins and Regina (Chris) Waldram. His 5 grandsons, Adam (Kaymie) Turner, Cooper and Conrad Robbins; Luke and Nick Morfitt and his great-grandchildren, Seth, Nate and Addy. Also surviving are his siblings: Mildred (James) Grant, Eldon (Carolyn) Robbins, Phylis (Bob) Ferguson and Randy (Linda) Robbins.

The campfire will be not as bright without Kenny to stir the coals.

A Life Celebration will be held at the Hayspur Fish Hatchery at a later date for friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kenny’s name to Hayspur Fish Hatchery at 071 E Hwy 20, Bellevue, ID 83313 or charity of your choice.

Special thanks to the Havasu Regional Medical Center - Hospice Unit, Angel MedFlight Worldwide Air Ambulance Services that flew him home to be with his family, and the St. Luke’s Magic Valley Hospice.

Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome.
