Joseph Rasch

Joseph Thomas Rasch, 36, passed away unexpectedly on November 28, 2017. Joseph is survived by his son, Jonah Rasch (Nicole Gouvea, Jonah’s mom); his parents, Michael and Marie Rasch; and siblings, Chris Rasch, Heather (Jay) Cooper, Jennifer (Kelly) Wilde, and Rachel (Steve) Masse; as well as multiple nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends  and cousins.

Joseph was born February 20, 1981 in Twin Falls, Idaho and lived in Jerome, Idaho next to his mom and dad. Joe graduated from Jerome High School in 1999, after which he went on to get a two-year nursing degree from CSI. Joe married Nicole Gouvea in 2005 and welcomed his only child, Jonah Paul Rasch. Jonah was gifted with his father’s fiery red hair, his curiosity, his witty personality, his intellect as well as his quiet, kind and gentle demeanor.

Joe earned a two year accounting degree from CSI, but ultimately went on to earn a nursing degree. Joe was an excellent nurse and was awarded the March of Dimes Idaho Nurse of the Year award in 2010. Joe was blessed with a wide spectrum of talents; although a nurse by profession, he could do everything from renovate a home to rebuild a Jeep to his latest project, building a zip line in his back yard. Above all, Joe was a caring father who loved Jonah with all of his heart.

Joe was loved by all who were given the opportunity to have known him and he will forever live in our hearts.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm, Saturday, December 2, 2017 the Jerome LDS 7 ^th Ward building, 50 East 100 South Jerome, Idaho. Grave dedication will conclude at Jerome Cemetery.
