Jonathan Daniel David Denton
March 8, 2017 tragedy took our family for a shocking ride. Early in the afternoon we were informed of the passing of our loving son, cousin, nephew, grandson, and best friend.
Jonathan Denton was a very smart and creative young man. He spent most of his days working on his cars that were so precious to him, and the remainder of his days spending quality time with his beloved friends and family. He spent countless hours under the hood of his ride, cruising around on his bike in the warm weather, and taking pictures that are worthy of a gallery.
Jonathan was known very well for being a shoulder to cry on when bad days happened. His wacky and goofy behavior was expected in every conversation with Jon. It is hard to believe that his passing is real. We are all waiting endlessly to hear that this was all a mistake and it will all be over soon. Instead, we are left with Jon’s smiling face in our heads with empty hearts. The sorrow we feel in our hearts can never be replaced, but we will hold onto the memory of Jon for as long as we live, as he has shined over all of our lives for countless years.
Although our family is heartbroken, we remember how much Jon loved the small things in life, like the number 24 and hawks flying in the sky, and we can only hope to appreciate them quite like he did.
He is survived by his mother, Holly Denton (Neubauer); his father, Paul Neubauer; his sisters, Liberty Neubauer, Serenity Neubauer, Nola Payson-Denney, and Brandi Palmer; his brother, Jacob Neubauer; his grandparents, Gordon and Trudy Saffrey; his aunts, Wendy Dunlap and Robin Wynn; his uncles, Joe Wynn and Marvin Dunlap; and his cousins, Emily Harmon, Rachel Arreguin, Taylor Vanderwalker, Eric Crowley, Sarah Van Dyke, Justin Dunlap, Manda Dunlap, and Dylan Dunlap.
A viewing will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 pm, Friday, March 17, 2017 at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, 216 2nd Avenue East, Jerome, Idaho. A Celebration of Jonathan's Life will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at St. Jerome's Catholic Church, open to family and friends that would like to share stories and memories of Jon to help us preserve his legacy.
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Jon's memorial webpage at www.farnsworthmortuary.com.
