John Rarick

June 30, 1970 — October 6, 2020

BRUNEAU

John Patrick Rarick 50, loving husband and father, passed away Tuesday October 6, 2020, in Bruneau, Idaho with his loving wife by his side.

John was born June 30, 1970 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Phillip and Juanita (Johnson) Rarick. He graduated from Valley High School in 1988 and went on to spend a year at Boise State University. He returned home and married Susan Serverance and together they had two children, Elizabeth and Zachary. That union ended in divorce and a relationship following gave him a third child, Jake.

John had a great passion for the outdoors. He loved to hunt, trap, and fish as well as camping and dutch oven cooking. He worked a few different odd jobs until he found his niche working with concrete and doing construction and later owning JBZ Construction. He could spend hours reminiscing about the time he worked on the Hydro Damn at Milner and working alongside Beth and Telby creating the foundation for their forever home.

Being a dad was a true joy for John and in 2008 he opened his arms to three more daughters: Megan, Katee, and Molisa, when he married his soul mate, Carrie Albertson.

John was preceded in death by his father, Phillip; and both maternal and paternal grandparents.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie; his children, Elizabeth (Telby) Black, Zachary, Jake, Megan (Branden) Embretson, Katee (Antonio) Rodriguez, and Molisa (Adam) Cohen; his mother, Juanita; brother, Dwight (Darla) Rarick; sister, Nikole (Shane) Sweek; many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and his beloved grandchildren, Colt, Briar, Walt, Traxton, Hope, Brodie, Anthony, Alexis, Andy, Zachary, Sophia, Travis, and Adam Jr.

John was known for his stubborn willfulness, his quick wit, his infectious smile and his kind compassionate spirit. He will truly be missed.

A memorial service will be held at 2 o’clock, Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 South Lincoln Ave. Jerome Idaho. Potluck will follow at Snake River Elk Lodge, 412 East 200 South, Jerome Idaho.

The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful caregivers who provided expertise, compassion and love to John and Carrie during their difficult journey, Dawn Rodriguez, Jan Ireland, Betsy Voytek, Toni Snider, and Mildred Westphal.
