Joan Hite Barkley

Joan Hite Barkley went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 4, 2024. Born October 21, 1934 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Jesse and Gladys Willis, she was the oldest of three children.

Joan attended school in Eden, Idaho and at the young age of 16 years old, she married Leo Hite on June 20, 1951. From this union, they had five children, Alan Hite, Dennis Hite, Kathleen (Donnie) Urie, Lois (Douglas) Molt, and Gary Hite. She worked for several years at Tupperware upon her retirement in 1996.

Joan loved to bake birthday and wedding cakes, gardening, being a caregiver to others, and one of her favorite things of all times was playing practical jokes.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents; her beloved husband; and one brother, Roy Willis. She is survived by all that loved her, her children; sister, Gerry Tucker; nine grandchildren, Jami York, Nikki Urie, Michael (Erika) Urie, LaShell (Zeke) Chamberlain, Troy Molt, Brad (Sam) Hite, Jeff Hite, Shawn (Candace) Hite, and Deni Lopez, as well as 14 great grandkids and 8 great great grandkids.

The family would like to thank Serenity Transitional Care and Hospice Visions for the care of our mom and beloved grandma.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Hazelton Cemetery, Hazelton, Idaho. A luncheon and Celebration of Life will follow at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hazelton, Idaho.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of our mom and grandma to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
