Jerome - Jerold “Jerry” E. Adams 84 of Jerome , passed away peacefully Monday, August 10, 2015 in Twin Falls, ID. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Jerry was born in Cheyenne, WY to Orel and Nona Adams. His family later moved to Jerome, ID on a homestead on the 7 Mile North Road. He grew up attending schools in Jerome and then joined the army at the age of 18, where he served a tour of duty in Germany. After his return, Jerry became a journeyman sheet metal worker. This profession later led him to own his own sheet metal businesses in Myrtle Creek, OR and Jerome, ID for over 40 years. This was a business he loved and took pride in.
Jerry married the love of his life, Lynn Tenney, on November 26, 1972. Together this family became a regular Brady Bunch. Jerry brought 4 children to this union and Lynn added 4 as well. They later added a precious daughter of their own. This great family was full of dynamics and fun, but together they made it work! Jerry and Lynn were sealed for time and all eternity in the Oakland California LDS Temple.
Jerry joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of 32. He had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and wanted to serve him in every way. He served in many callings including stake missionary and bishopric counselor. In 1992, Jerry suffered a stroke that caused him to have a speech impairment and to walk with a cane. This did not stop him from serving. He and his sweetheart served two LDS missions including one in Ardmore, Oklahoma and the other in Austin, Texas.
Jerry loved his wife and his family. He had a strong testimony of forever families and enjoyed attending all of their activities. He also enjoyed bowling, camping, horseshoes, softball, western movies.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife and caregiver Lynn, his children Patty Stoltz (Wayne), Dale (Karen), David (Tammi), Chris (Songa), Patty Seibold (Bruce), Scott (Pam), Robert (Jan), Ellen Adams, Jennifer Bond (Dave), daughter- in -law Tammy Bentley, his siblings Monford (Doris), Frank (Jean), Oliver (Dorothy), Peg Raincloud, and Twilla Williams (Steve). He will be sorely missed by his 35 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Kenneth & Vivian Tenney, brother Dale, grandson Britain, and great grandson Oliver Nye.
We would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Genesis Healthcare Center of Twin Falls for helping make his last few months comfortable.
