Lois Jean "Jeanne" Vandiver died on August 26, 2021, after a short illness, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Twin Falls, Idaho surrounded by her immediate family. She was born February 16, 1939 to Clarence and Gracie Lucile Morrow, in Madisonville, Kentucky and raised in Nebo, Kentucky, just 10 miles from Madisonville. When she was 13, Clarence remarried Mary Jane Jones who became stepmother to Jeanne.
She graduated from Nebo HS in 1957 and shortly thereafter joined the Navy. It was there that she met the love of her life, Morris James Vandiver, and after a short engagement they married and started a life together that lasted 40 years until the death of Morris in 1998. She never remarried. Together they had 3 natural born children: Gizelle the oldest, Michelle the middle child, and Bryce the youngest. They also became foster parents to one girl, Jane Randol, who was with the family for 4 years.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mary Jane; her birth mother, Gracie Sizemore; brothers, Donny and Kenny Morrow of Kentucky; her husband, Morris James Vandiver; grandson, Samuel Morris Vandiver; son-in-law, John Franklin Beers; and her mother and father-in-law, Chester Hershel and Artise Vandiver.
Jeanne is survived by her three children, Gizelle Beers, Michelle (Keith) Zumr, and Bryce (Genia) Vandiver; grandchildren, Lois (Jared) Beers Stillion; Elaine (Jon) Beers Harper; Tonya Holton Walters; Allyson Lee Ann (Matt) Vandiver Bays; Phillip James Vandiver; and Jarod Christian Vandiver; great grandchildren, Thomas Walters, Kyle Walters, Lilly Harper, and soon to be born Baby Harper; and various other family members.
She was a faithful member of Jerome Bible Baptist Church where she served in various capacities and children ministries.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 3, 2021 at Jerome Bible Baptist Church, 132 2nd Ave E, Jerome, Idaho.
She will be greatly missed.
