Jerome - Jared Thomas McKay, 24, of Jerome, passed away Friday July 14, 2017, at his home.
He was born June 26, 1993, in Twin Falls, Idaho, the son of Thomas and Carol McKay. Jared was raised in Jerome and graduated from Jerome High School in 2011. Then attended the Northwest Lineman College in Meridian, Idaho, where he graduated with a 4.0 and started working at Eureka Construction as an apprentice lineman. He eventually became a Journeyman Lineman. Jared loved the thrill of electricity and took pride in his work. He was a very motivated individual and very self-driven. He enjoyed fishing, camping, wood working, and so much more. Jared will be missed dearly.
Jared is survived by his parents, Tom and Carol McKay of Jerome; his sister, Ashley (Rustin) Thompson of Filer; and his brother, Nathan McKay of Jerome; two grandmothers, Frances Ehrmantraut and Patricia McKay; his lifelong sweetheart, Kolbie Stauffer; and many extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, John Ehrmantraut and Thomas McKay, Sr.
A Celebration of Jared’s Life will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, July 21, 2017 at Jerome High School, 104 S Tiger Dr, Jerome, ID, 83338, with Pastor William Ritter, officiating.
