Jerome- James Franklin "Jim" Dick, 77, of Jerome, passed away Saturday June 25, 2016, in Twin Falls. He was born August 11, 1938, in Burley, Idaho, the son of Claude Lawton Dick and Katherine Burris Dick. Jim was raised in Burley and graduated from Burley High School. While in high school, he went to work at Shelby's Grocery store and continued as a grocer until retiring. He also served in the Army reserves. Jim met Anita Hall and they were married on May 13, 1957, in Elko, Nevada. In 1979, they settled in Jerome where Jim went to work at Stokes Food Center. He was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed sturgeon fishing. Jim also enjoyed wood working and building bird houses.
Jim is survived by his wife, Anita Dick; their children, Bob Dick of Jerome, Jacci (Steve) Nicholson of Jerome, Steve (Samantha) Dick of Rexburg and Michael Dick of Jerome. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, two sisters, Naomi Ralls and Patty (Bill) Strain; one brother, Glenn (Cathy)Dick; and many extended family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Katherine Mann and Lois Turner; and one brother, Robert Dick.
A visitation will be held Friday evening, July 1, 2016 , at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 South Lincoln, Jerome, where family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. , Saturday July 2, 2016 , in the Jerome LDS 4th Ward Chapel, 26 North Tiger Drive, Jerome, with Bishop Brian Williams officiating. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow in the Jerome Cemetery.
