James "Jim" Leo Fetterly, 94, passed away in Jerome, ID, on November 6, 2024. Born on May 16, 1930, in Oswego, NY. James dedicated his life to serving his country, community, and family. Everyone who met Jim became friends with him immediately.
At a young age, James entered The United States Air Force, where he received his HSE. James proudly served as a power man electrician during the Korean War. While in the service, he received the Korean Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal.
After completing his military service, Jim married Barbara Embree and they were blessed with several children in their years of marriage. Jim spent his life in construction work. In 1974, he married Eileen Brose Murphy of Park Rapids, MN and was blessed with one more child.
In his later years, he was committed to servicing veterans in any way he was able to help by joining the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was active in presenting military honors whenever he was called upon.
In his younger years, Jim loved to hunt and fish and go camping into his beloved mountains. His ultimate joy in life was playing with his great grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Eileen (Brose) Fetterly; sons, Ron of Golconda, Nevada; Lawrence (Lonny), and Kennith of Jerome, Idaho; and Charles of Twin Falls, Idaho; and daughter, Wanda of Jerome, Idaho. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Jim's legacy of integrity, kindness, and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 15, 2024, at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome, ID.
