Eagle – Helen Ruth Stinemates, 92, of Hagerman, passed away May 27, 2015, in Eagle, Idaho.
She was born June 2, 1922, in Olathe, Colorado, the daughter of Joseph Bishop and Myrtle Easton Bishop. Helen was raised in El Centro, California until 1942 when she moved to San Diego, and she served her country by enlisting in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
While stationed at North Island Naval Air Station in San Diego, she met the love of her life, Bill Stinemates. They were married June 19, 1944. Following their naval service, they settled in Escondido.
In 1968, Bill and Helen settled in Hagerman, Idaho, where they owned and operated Bill's Market. Most of Helen’s working years were spent as a homemaker and working side by side with her husband.
She really loved to work in her garden and nature watching in the Stanley Basin. Mostly, Helen loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Helen is survived by her two sons, Bob Stinemates of Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico, and Pete (Kay) Stinemates of Eagle, Idaho. She also survived by three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one brother.
At Helen’s request, no formal services will be held. Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary and Crematory, 1343 S. Lincoln, Jerome, ID 83338.
