Eva Crosby

October 6, 1937 — February 7, 2016

Hazelton- Eva Joanne Lang Crosby, 78, of Hazelton, Idaho, passed away peacefully Feb. 7, 2016, at Alpine Manor in Twin Falls, from a short battle with melanoma, which had metastasized throughout her body .

Joanne was born Oct. 6, 1937 at Glendale, California the oldest of three children born to Clarence Eugene and Eva May Lang,  and was later joined by two brothers, Bob and John.

She attended schools in Glendale, California, graduating from Glendale High School in 1955. She received her Bachelor of Arts Teaching Degree from Los Angeles State College in 1961. With her Teaching Degree in hand, she taught High School in Lancaster and Avenal, California and at the Deaf and Blind School in Ogden, Utah and assisted teachers in the Valley School District in Hazelton, Idaho, through the Foster Grandparent Program.

Joanne married Ralph P. Crosby Dec. 26, 1978 in Elko, Nevada.  They moved from Ogden,

Utah to the Eden-Hazelton area where they bought a small acreage for a home for their family of “Big Al”, Tammy, CC, just to name a few, also several goats and chickens.

Joanne was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She loved being able to attend the Temple, work on her Genealogy and was serving as the Hazelton 1st Ward Librarian prior to her death.

Joanne will be remembered for her spunky personality, her hard work, her frugality and for her love of animals and nature.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband Ralph and her parents. She is survived by her brothers Bob (Linda) Lang, John Lang and a niece, Linda Sue Lang, all of California and her

“many friends in the community and her Hazelton 1st Ward family”.

We would like to thank Alpine Manor for their wonderful care and comfort that was given in her final days.

Memorial services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. , Monday February 15, 2016 , in the Hazelton LDS 1st Ward Chapel, 531 Middleton Avenue, Hazelton, with Bishop Ray Moon officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazelton Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome. www.farnsworthmortuary.com
