Ernesto Gonzalez

December 9, 1962 — December 1, 2014

The love of my life, my best friend and soul-mate, Ernesto Gonzalez, went home to his Heavenly Father on December 1, 2014.  He was born December 9, 1962, in Chihuahua, Mexico, the ninth of ten children born to Genovevo and Eva Gonzalez.  Ernesto came to America as a teenager and worked on farms in the Murtaugh area.  He was a hard worker and loved farming.  Ernesto had so many friends and so much love in his heart.  Although he never had children of his own, he was an amazing step-dad to Corbin VanLeeuwen, Chad Hoffman and Levi Hoffman.  He also loved being a part of the VanLeeuwen, Stanger and Pickett families.  Ernesto loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating and camping.  On January 8, 2002, he began dating Brenda VanLeeuwen.  From day one, it was love at first sight and the love never stopped.  Ernesto leaves behind countless family members and friends.  At the time of his death, he was employed at Spear's Manufacturing, where he enjoyed working, teasing, joking and Wednesday tacos.  Ernesto's last wish was to return to Mexico to be buried with his parents and brother.  A celebration of his life will be held from 3-6 PM, Sunday December 7, 2014 , at the Jerome Event Center, 133 West Main Street, Jerome.  Ernesto's family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made at: http://gofundme.com/i2w4b4 . Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome.
