Eric went to be with his Heavenly Father on Father's Day, 2023, how appropriate. Eric was born in Twin Falls, Idaho to Wilbur Pitt Box and Mable Irene Norris. Eric went to school in Wendell and Jerome. At the age of seventeen, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a radio operator on the U.S.S. Alfred A Cunningham in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from service on April 25th, 1967, with the rank of E-5.
After serving in the Navy, he lived in Los Angeles, California working as an apartment maintenance technician. Later he moved to Tennessee to be closer to his sister and worked in a manufacturing business, while also doing some work for NASA.
Eric returned to Idaho where he met and married Sandy Freels and from this union, two sons were born. He later met Teresa Nelson, with whom he shared the rest of his life.
Eric worked for Yamaha as a mechanic, and later for Tupperware as an electrician. When Tupperware closed down, he went to work for Norco Windows. Eric then went to work for the US Postal Service as a relief mail carrier and later Bridon Cordage, from which he retired.
Eric enjoyed going on camping trips with friends and family, riding motorcycles, shooting guns with the boys, and helping them to reload bullets. The guitar was a relaxation for him, especially when he played in Church. His hobby was rebuilding a 1926 Model T Tudor with his neighbor Kirk, and he also rebuilt a fence weaver which he donated to the Rupert Historical Museum.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents; a younger brother, Aaron; and a granddaughter, Autumn.
Eric leaves behind a loving wife of thirty-five years, Teresa; two sons, Eric Brandon Box and Wayne Preston (Amy) Box; six stepchildren; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, with two more due in August and October; his sister, Beverly (Jim) Robinson; a sister-in-law, Midori; three nephews; and two nieces.
