Elizabeth Johnson, 96, of Jerome passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019. She was born July 24, 1922 in Green County, Tennessee, the youngest of 12 children to Steve and Martha Jennings.
She married Chester Arnold Johnson on April 26, 1945 in Ringold, Georgia. They lived the first 13 years of their marriage in Tennessee where they were blessed with five children. They all then moved to Arizona where they lived for about a year before settling in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Elizabeth was an extremely strong and caring woman; never shying away from hard work or helping someone in need. She loved gardening and quilting and took great pride in hand stitching most of her children’s clothing in their younger years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband; all of her siblings; and her only son, Kennith Ray Johnson.
Elizabeth is survived by her four daughters, Juanita Rarick; Betty (Monte) Stoppello; Shirley (Gene) Schafer; and Bonnie (John) Knapple; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Johnson; eleven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and several great great grand children.
She was a genuine steel southern rose who will be missed tremendously.
The family wishes to thank Melody and Jasmine at Angels Touch Home Care for their loving care of our mother.
