Edwina Despain Archer of Richfield, Idaho died Sunday, September 10, 2017 in Shoshone, Idaho.
Edwina was born January 10, 1930 in Joseph City, Arizona to Seymour Elmo Despain and Thea Westover. She attended BYU where she met the love of her life, Warren Archer, and was later married to him in the Salt Lake Temple. They celebrated her 65th wedding anniversary seven days before her death. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in which she held many callings including president of the Primary, Young Women and the Relief Society organizations.
Edwina and her husband served a mission to Adam-ondi-Ahman. That was a treasured memory for her. She was very loving, thoughtful and kind to all she met. There was no doubt about how she felt about her country with all the red, white and blue in her home. She always wanted to send people who came to her home with something – no empty hands. She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Norma Hansen; brother, Sheron Despain; and grandson, Rex Tree.
She is survived by her husband, Warren; and children, Warren II, Allison Tree, and Cal and Audrey Archer; sisters, LuJean Morgan and Ardeen Simmons; brother, Weston Despain; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Friday, September 15, 2017, 12 noon, at the Richfield Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with time for family and friends one hour prior to service. A grave dedication to follow at Richfield Cemetery.
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Edwina's memorial webpage at www.farnsworthmortuary.com.
