Dorthia Weigt

Jerome- Dorthia M. Weigt, 89, of Jerome, passed away Sunday February 1, 2015, in Twin Falls.  She was born June 25, 1925, in Eden, Idaho, the daughter of John F. Kober and Freda Block Kober.  Dorthia graduated from Jerome High School in 1943.  On June 22, 1947, she married Willard C. Weigt.  They made their home in Jerome, where they raised four children.  Dorthia spent 18 years working at Washington and Jefferson Elementary schools in Jerome.  She enjoyed reading, walking and window shopping.  She was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church and worshipped at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jerome.

Dorthia is survived by her husband of 67 years, Willard Weigt; their children, Joy (Art) Cristler and Daryl (Erma) Weigt, all of Twin Falls, Lynn (Bobbi) Weigt of Jerome and Mark (Nancy) Weigt of Boise.  She is also survived by six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, her brother Thomas (Sue) Kober, and many extended family members and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Eleanor, her brothers John and Ben; her granddaughter Kristi and grandson Kevin.

A visitation will be held Friday February 6, 2015 , at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 South Lincoln, Jerome, where family and friends may call from 6-8 PM.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday February 7, 2015, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1301 North Davis, Jerome, with Rev. Clint Lutz officiating.  A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM . Dorthia's family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in her name to:  St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Box 502, Jerome, ID 83338.
