Our loving mother and grandmother, Diana “Louise” (Lindsey) McFadden, age 80, formerly of Jerome, returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father while in her home on November 9, 2023 in Middleton, Idaho. She was surrounded by her loved ones as she passed due to health complications.
Louise was born on May 6, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Herald and Diana Lindsey. She was the youngest of three children who were loved and cherished by their father and mother. After graduating from Highland High School, she went on to study at BYU in the Psychology program. She married Wayne Ardel McFadden on March 10, 1966, and later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on October 13, 1980. Louise was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she fulfilled all her church callings beyond measure.
Louise successfully sold jewelry for over twenty-five years between JCPenney, Fred Meyers, Zales, and Macy’s when she finally retired as one of the top sales representatives in the region. She found joy in cooking for her family (especially Dutch Soup for Blaze), gardening, crocheting, going to summer rodeos, music, and her western movies. She was the loving mother of five children: Brent, Brandi, Shawn, Brian, and Lance. She dedicated over 19 years faithfully visiting her injured son Shawn at his rehabilitation center. Selflessly sacrificing her time to him on nearly a daily basis. She is the adoring grandmother of fourteen grandchildren.
Her final years were spent at the home of Lance and VeAnn in Middleton, Idaho where she was cared for and highly respected. She was excited to join them in many thrilling adventures around the western states as they worked. She fearlessly enjoyed climbing a lighthouse, riding on theme park rides, riding trains, visiting museums and concerts, hiking Yosemite, playing games with her grandchildren, spending winters in sunny Arizona, and visiting Yellowstone. There weren’t too many bathrooms she didn’t see along the 150,000 miles in the three years she spent traveling. She always loved meeting new people and seeing all the sites. She was a joy to have and will be greatly missed!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herald and Diana Lindsey; brother, Don Lindsey; sister, Jean Clark; and grandson from Shawn, Wyatt McFadden. She is survived by her ex-husband, Wayne McFadden; son, Brent (Caroline); five grandchildren, Carson, Cole, Clay, Autumn, and Cash; daughter, Brandi (Pat); son, Shawn; one grandson, Morgan; son, Brian (Christy); two grandchildren, Cooper and Camis, and honorary granddaughter, Madison; and son, Lance (VeAnn); four grandchildren Adelaide, Allyson, Tucker, and Blaze.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 am until 11:30 am, Monday, November 20, 2023 at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome, Idaho. Graveside service will follow at Noon at the Jerome Cemetery.
