Dennis Keith Roan

Dennis "Denny" Keith Roan, 68, of Twin Falls, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Twin Falls.

He was born May 4, 1955, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Ruth Maxine and Pierce A. Roan, Sr. He was raised and educated in Twin Falls. He was the baby of the family, joining his two brothers and one sister. 

He was in awe of all cars and could tell you the model of the car by which commercial was on T.V.  By the age of two, he only had to hear the music of the advertisement and would shout out the model.  

Dennis was involved with cars his entire life. He opened his own used car lot, Roan Motors, in Twin Falls. For several years, he served as President, Vice President, and other various roles for the Idaho State Independent Auto Dealers Association. He joined the Elks Fraternal Organization where his father was a member, and they enjoyed going to meetings together.  Growing up, he always enjoyed the family reunions with the extended Roan and Hollenbeck families.

Dennis married Susan Mayne and had one daughter, Whitney, who joined Susan’s boys, Rhett and Ryan. His eldest daughter, Dawn Marie, also joined the family. In the early 90’s, he divorced and moved to California and continued work in the car business. He married his second wife, Donna, and they transferred to Oregon, where he was the manager of Autoland Cars. When they moved back to California, he and Donna decided to go their separate ways. 

He met his forever love, Carmen Ramirez, in California, at Autoland where they worked. At one point the couple went to Hawaii to help his brother Don in the rental car business. After some time, he and Carmen moved back to Idaho where his family was introduced to his youngest son, Jeramie. Dennis enjoyed life to the fullest with his many friends and family. He was a caring father to all his children. Carmen’s children and grandchildren loved him and considered him their Papa. It was always a special day when his children and grandchildren could be together.

He and Carmen were together for 21 years, until his death. 

His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he loved every moment he spent with them. He and Carmen were raising their grandson, Keith, named after him (Dennis Keith). They loved their trips to California to see their children, grandchildren, and extended family. They also loved relaxing in their motorhome while camping and fishing. 

Dennis is survived by his true love, Carmen; brother, Pierce Jr.; sister, Mary (Jerry); his children; and numerous grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierce and Ruth; infant baby sister, Kay Louise; and his brother, Don.  

We are extremely grateful for the loving care that was extended to the family from Dr. Ball, Luke, and the staff at Farnsworth Mortuary & Crematory, and Rob and Cindy at Sunset Memorial Park.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, on his birthday, Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 2296 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls.
