JEROME

Deloris Jean (Mason) Daniell, lovingly known as "Dee Dee," passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, at the age of 78. She was born on August 19, 1947, in Gooding, Idaho, to Oscar A. and Nora R. (Jasper) Mason. Deloris was the second of four children in their family, alongside siblings Carol M. Hamilton, Donald O. Mason, and Donna R. Glenn, as well as their older half-sister, Noma Jean.

Being part of a military family, Deloris experienced an adventurous childhood, growing up in New Mexico and Arizona before the family eventually settled in Jerome, Idaho.

On February 6, 1965, Deloris married the love of her life, Lloyd “Pete” Daniell, Jr. Together, they spent 21 wonderful years living in the Hailey area, where Deloris worked for businesses such as the Sun Valley Lodge and Mad Hatters. During this time, she and two friends started an antique shop, where she discovered her talent for restoring antique porcelain dolls.

A devoted fan of the Star Trek franchise, Deloris was a proud “Trekkie.” In 1986, she and Pete returned to Jerome, Idaho, and purchased their first home. Deloris worked at ConAgra, retiring in 2009. She cherished her passion for collecting and restoring dolls and could often be found at auctions, doll shows, and Jackpot, where she and Pete enjoyed dancing.

Deloris never had children, but she adored her pet birds, who were her “babies.”

Deloris is survived by her siblings, Donald O. Mason and Donna R. Glenn of Twin Falls, Idaho; her nieces and nephews, Tammy R. Wade, Brian (Shawna) Wade, Dennis (Patty) Mason, and Misty (Dale) McDonald; as well as 18 great-nieces and nephews; and 18 great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nora R. and Oscar A. Mason; her husband, Lloyd “Pete” Daniell; her sibling, Carol M. Hamilton; great-great niece, Carolann Wade; and nephews Joey R. Melugin and Tommy D. Doramus.

Deloris will be remembered for her kindness, her love of dolls, and the joy she brought to her family and friends.
