David K. Smith

JEROME

David Karl Smith was born February 21, 1946 in Malad City, Idaho to Karl Maeser Smith and Retha Mae Dukes Smith. He passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024 with his wife of 57 years at his side. He was 78. 

David is survived by his wife, Nadean Whitaker Smith; his children, Karl (Pam) and Dericx (Candi) Smith; grandchildren, Kyra (Bradley) Germann, Kaycie (Cody) Keller; Taylor (Lexi) Smith; Brecx, Regan, and Randi Smith; great grandchildren, Cooper and Boone Keller, Brooklyn Germann, and Taygan and Zayden Smith. He is also survived by his sister, Ramona (Neal) Hughes from Samaria, Idaho; his brother, Kent (Pat) Smith of Holbrook, Idaho; and sister, Lisa Hummel of Malad City, Idaho, as well as his many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Kathleen Harding and Cherie Blaisdell Malan; and brothers-in-law, Robert Harding and Nolan Blaisdell. 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, with a viewing beginning at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 9, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 50 E 100 S, Jerome. The family will then be traveling to Malad City where David will be transported via horse drawn hearse to the Malad City Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his parents, family, and friends.
