Daren went to join our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 18, 2024, at the age of 55 in Boise, Idaho.
He was born on November 30, 1968, to Dennis and Sheri Amundson in La Mirada, California.
Growing up in Southern California he loved the beach and BMX bicycle racing. He played Pop Warner Football and Little League baseball with his big brother Todd.
Daren moved to Jerome Idaho in 1980 with his mom Sheri and his brothers Todd and Josh. He went to Jr. High School and High School in Jerome and met so many friends and they remained friends throughout his life. He loved playing football in High School and was part of the 1986 State Championship team at Jerome High School. He loved snow skiing in the winter and water skiing in the summer with his best friend Todd Coats.
Daren was a hard worker and started working at a young age to help support his love of cars, trucks, and clothes. He worked many different jobs throughout school and when he graduated, he went to work for Idaho Power. He started as a meter reader and went to school to become a lineman. He loved his job and worked at Idaho Power for many years. He loved helping people so he decided to pursue a career in sales and anyone that knew Daren knew that he could sell anything.
Daren enjoyed Boise State football and NASCAR racing. He also enjoyed following his nephew, Easton, play college baseball and his niece, Taelynne, playing soccer and volleyball.
His greatest love was his children. Chance was his first-born son and Daren was so proud of his accomplishments and how Chance has turned out to be a great husband and father. Chance and his wife Lindsay gave Daren his first grandson and Daren loved Henry with all his heart. Wyatt was his second son and is a free spirit. Wyatt is a talented musician and artist with a permanent smile on his face. Daren was so proud of Wyatt. Jenna is his beautiful baby girl who could do no wrong in his eyes. He loved her so much and is so proud of how she has turned out. A beautiful young woman.
During Daren’s last year he was in a relationship with Sheri Blair, and they were able to do some traveling and enjoy life together. The most memorable was a trip to Balboa Peninsula, Newport Beach, California, with Daren, Sheri Blair, and mom Sheri. Daren spent a lot of time there as a child with the family.
Daren’s best friend was his mom, Sheri. They were always there for each other and he will be so greatly missed by mom, family, and friends.
