Cynthia Louise Bentzinger

Cynthia “Cindy” Louise Simerly Bentzinger, 66, of Jerome, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023, in Jerome, Idaho. 

She was born March 11, 1957, to Vernon Marshall Simerly and Verna LoRae Galliher Simerly. Cynthia was the mother to Daphne Martin, Zachary Bentzinger, and Hayle Bentzinger, and grandmother to Dawson and Paige Martin.

Cynthia's life was characterized by a profound enthusiasm for nature and the sciences. Her passion led her to earn several degrees in science and she dedicated much of her life to the exploration of biology and chemistry. Her interests further led her on a journey of lifelong learning, and she often found joy in the intricate wonders of the natural world.

Cynthia is survived by her children; and brother Dan Simerly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Verna Simerly; and her brother Tom Simerly.

A private memorial service will be held. Those who knew Cynthia are encouraged to remember her in their own ways, reflecting on the moments and memories that best capture her spirit.
