JEROME

Curtis Lee Neilson, a devoted family man and skilled welder, passed away on May 30, 2024, in Jerome, Idaho. He was born on August 18, 1952, in Twin Falls, Idaho. Curtis served his country honorably in the United States Navy from 1971 to 1977, before embarking on a successful career.

With a knack for welding, Curtis dedicated 27 years to Farmore Irrigation and later showcased his exceptional skills as the top welder for R & M Welding for 8 years. His craftsmanship and work ethic left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the industry.

In his free time, Curtis enjoyed rock hunting, tending to his yard, fishing, camping, and hiking. These hobbies allowed him to appreciate the beauty of nature and find solace in the outdoors.

Curtis is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy Neilson; cherished fur babies; sisters, Diane (Dan) Schiffler and Denise Burch; brother, Scott Neilson; as well as his faithful feline companion, Sweetie. 

He was preceded in death by his loving father, Darwin; mother, Leila; and nephew, Jason Burch.

Curtis will be remembered for his dedication to family, passion for welding, and love for the great outdoors. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear.

A viewing will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, with Military Honors beginning at 7:00 pm, Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome.
